Christen Contario

Cincinnati-born sculptor Christen Contario is a full-time artist and home renovator whose practice explores the intersection of art, architecture, and environment. Her large-scale and site-specific works reimagine homes and outdoor spaces as immersive galleries, inviting viewers to engage with art as an integral part of daily life.

Working primarily with woven metal wire, Contario transforms an industrial material into fluid, organic forms that embody both strength and delicacy. Her process-driven approach allows each piece to respond to its surroundings, enduring natural elements while maintaining a sense of lightness and movement.

In addition to her wire work, Contario brings a curatorial sensibility to home renovation - transforming interiors into deeply personal expressions of the lives within them. Rooted in craftsmanship, connection, and transformation, her practice celebrates the dialogue between structure and spirit, permanence and possibility.
